The Peruvian blueberry industry has seen a strong recovery in the 2024/25 season, with total shipments expected to reach 323,900 tons, up 4.1 percent from initial forecasts. Thanks to delayed pruning techniques and the application of new, high-quality varieties, the season has achieved a smooth output that not only breaks records, but also solidifies Peru's position as a global leader in blueberry exports.
As of the first week of 2025, Peru has shipped 283,800 tons of blueberries to international markets, a 53% increase year-over-year. Of these, conventional blueberries accounted for 251,400 tons, up 51% year-over-year and in line with forecasts, while organic blueberries were 32,500 tons, surging 69% year-over-year but 5% below forecasts.
